Message Just chatting to Joel@Z1 and realised I didn't update you guys!

Anyway, since the last round I fixed my VTC (yay!) and went for a remap to dial it all in. What should have taken a few days took nearly 2 weeks and I ended up collecting the car from the mapper on the way to the event. The cause of the problems were electrical gremlins stopping the car from starting, and even when it did start, it would occasionally cut out. We ended up removing the HKS DLI and that seemed to help(or so we thought), and at least the on boost mapping was complete with VTC.

Now setup to run 18psi, I had 620ftlp and 740hp flywheel (no dynojets here either!)

For those still here, time for pics from the event

The event itself was up & down, the day kick started with the car refusing to start after unloading - after 10 mins of trying it finally burst into life with a great sigh of relief from me.
The track was new to me, as well as the power level, and the car performed very well in the morning practise sessions. My times were improving so I was confident for the qualifying and final sessions in the afternoon, both worth decent points in the championship.

I got 2nd in qualifying, but came in knowing something wasn't right. Time is short at these events, we decided it was running on 5, so we changed a coil pack and put fresh plugs in. However, when it came to the final I knew as soon as I drove off to line up it wasn't fixed. Then while waiting, it cut out! At this stage I was seriously concerned it wouldn't start again. I left until whatever delays were resolved and they were ready for us, and thankfully it started on the 3rd attempt. I quickly put this out of my mind and got on with the task of lapping.

Put some half decent laps in, but subsequent attempts were thwarted by either traffic, or unbalanced brake setup which we didn't have time to look at due to the mapping delays. I ended up 4th by a few hundreth which wasn't bad overall given the issues.

My Fastest laps

Highlighs / Bloopers

Since then, I have fixed the problems and the car is much faster than it was at any point on the event day. What I thought was running on 5, was actually running on 4(!), my wiring loom had developed high resistance in the earth side causing the ign relay not to work (hence not starting) and also stopping more than 1 coil firing on the driver side bank. New power and earth wires had it back on six, however a road test only showed 10psi and quite laggy.

Found a broken coupler, replaced it and oh my god, power everywhere and no traction, the next event is going to be fun, and only week left now to wait :)

I've also purchased a full pedal box with brake bias adjustment, no time to fit for this event, but will be going on ready for the following one, hopefully no more sideways entries for me.

Bonus video for being late with the update - official Timeattack video of the round. I'm in it twice briefly at the beginning, but at least you can see some of the other machinery competing
